Home Energy Saving Scheme |
|
The Home Energy Saving (HES) scheme provides assistance to homeowners who are interested in improving the energy efficiency of their home in order to reduce energy use and costs and greenhouse gas emissions. It is a national scheme and thus open to all owners of existing houses. The scheme is administered by Sustainable Energy Ireland and its agents.
The Home Energy Saving scheme provides grant aid for the following energy improving measures.
- Roof and attic insulation
- Cavity wall insulation
- Internal wall insulation
- External wall insulation
- High-efficiency boiler upgrade
- Heating control upgrade
- Building Energy Rating (BER)
For further details about the Home Energy Saving scheme
The table below sets out the eligible measures and assess grand amounts available. It also identifies the typical improvement in
BER
rating that could be expected from each individual measure, done in isolation. Note that in estimating the total potential BER improvement, if the full range of measures are installed, the potential BER improvements for each measure should not be added together. The table also gives an estimate of the typical payback period for each measure, arising from energy saved.
